Planning and Budget Advisory Council allocates $500,000

UAA's Planning and Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) allocated $500,000 this year to the Strategic Opportunity Fund (SOF). The call for proposals during the spring semester resulted in 31 submissions and a total request of over $1,250,000. The quality of proposals, the wealth of ideas, and the needs expressed made the review and recommendation process challenging. The SOF Committee sought to support the greatest number of proposals that emphasized student success having the greatest impact on the number of students served. The committee looked for proposals that incorporated partnerships and collaboration, that were evidence-based, innovative and sustainable. For FY09, 15 proposals were awarded funding.
