On Monday, Sept. 22, the Campus Bookstore presents Barry Scott Zellen and his book, Breaking the Ice: From Land Claims to Tribal Sovereignty in the Arctic.

Barry S. Zellen is director of the Arctic Security Research Project at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Contemporary Conflict and is deputy editor of the Strategic Insights journal. In Breaking the Ice, he examines the evolution of land claims and self-government in the Western Arctic region.

Barry S. Zellen was educated at Harvard and U.C. Berkeley. He has received various research grants and fellowships including a McArthur Foundation International Security Fellowship, an Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation research fellowship, and a Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security Northern Security Research Grant.
