Emergency preparedness exercise to be held on campus today

Friday, Sept. 12, 9-11:30 a.m.
Sharon Gagnon Lane cul-de-sac

The University of Alaska Anchorage and emergency responders from the community will come together on Friday, September 12 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. to participate in an exercise to practice UAA's response to a crisis situation.

This mock exercise will simulate a terrorist attack on a UAA shuttle bus near the residence halls on campus.

The attack is not real, but the response is designed to be as realistic as possible. The purpose of this exercise is to practice and evaluate UAA's policies and procedures, and its response to crisis situations on campus. The University will be joined by local organizations including the Anchorage Fire Department, Providence Alaska Medical Center, and the Anchorage Office of Emergency Management.

The exercise will take place in the cul-de-sac of Sharon Gagnon Lane. It will not disrupt your normal day-to-day activities.  Thank you for your patience and support of this exercise.
