2009 Legislative Advocacy Team

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The Union of Students at UAA (USUAA) Legislative Advocacy Team is looking for students to travel to Juneau and help voice the concerns of the UAA student body to our legislators. Experience has shown that students are able to get substantial traction with legislators and these student advocacy trips are crucial to getting full funding for UAA, as well as securing new grants and scholarship programs.

Being part of the Student Advocacy Team is an excellent way to build skills and makes a great addition to any resume. You can pick up an application from the Student Government office in the Student Union (Room 201) or download a PDF version from the USUAA Web site.

All students are encouraged to apply before the Nov. 21 deadline.

If you have questions regarding the 2009 Legislative Advocacy Team or this process, please contact Peter Finn, USUAA Government Relations Director, at ispaf@uaa.alaska.edu.
