Lady Seawolves rank No. 5

The USA Today/ESPN Tuesday moved the Lady Seawolves up four notches from the previous Division II poll to the coveted No 5 slot.
The move reflects the Lady Seawolves recent blaze of glory, taking the Shootout title on Wednesday, Nov. 26, in a squeaker win over Division I Syracuse, 58 to 57. The previous day they walloped another Division I team, Cal State Northridge, by a lopsided 72 to 44.
Also this week, UAA senior Rebecca Kielpinski was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Player of the Week. The 6-2 center from Mandan, N.D., totaled 24 points, 15 rebounds, six blocks and six assists in her team's two Shootout wins.
