Chancellor Ulmer to address the Anchorage Economic Advisory Panel

In January, Acting Mayor Matt Claman formed an Anchorage Economic Advisory Panel to advise him on the potential impacts of the global economic downturn on Anchorage. The panel consists of a diverse cross section of the Anchorage economy, including health care, telecommunications, tourism, oil and gas, transportation, social services and investments.
Chancellor Fran Ulmer will address the panel on Thursday, Feb. 26 at noon and talk about how UAA is preparing Alaska's future workforce. She will discuss high-demand fields in Alaska such as engineering and health care and how UAA is helping us "grow our own" in these professions. She will also talk about how programs at UAA are helping to further Alaska's economic development.
