Today, Feb. 5, Noon-1 p.m.
UAA Student Union Den

February is Black/African-American History Month. One of the featured events will be a series of "Our Stories" panels. UAA colleagues and community members will share their stories and inspirations with the UAA campus community.

Do you know who just returned from Washington, D.C. and attended the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama? Do you know who was born in Louisiana and cooks the best gumbo or whose favorite song is "It's a Man's World?"

Come hear UAA student Kimberly Lowe, Dr. Nyree McDonald, assistant professor of civil engineering and director of the AEST program, Dr. Stephen Washington, director of AHAINA student programs and Timea Webster, director of Alumni and Retiree Relations, share their stories.

For more information, please contact the Office of Campus Diversity & Compliance at (907) 786-4680 or visit our Web site to view a PDF of the 2009 UAA Alaska Civil Rights Month Poster.
