Spring 2009: Reel Eyes film showcase reveals how disability is represented in film and other media

The Reel Eyes showcase of films by and about people with disabilities offers the film Disabling Imagery at 1 p.m. and Station Agent at 3 p.m. today, March 20. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly will be shown at 1 p.m. and Radio at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

This film showcase is sponsored by Disability Support Services with support of the UAA Diversity Action Council. This is the 6th year for the showcase and a one-credit psychology course is available for those who wish to learn more about disability in film and other media. All films are free and open to the public; all films are captioned. Requests for interpreters should be made to Disability Support Services at aydss@uaa.alaska.edu.
