Spring 2009: Disaster exercise with emergency shelter intake

Today UAA will host a disaster field exercise in which trained Red Cross volunteers simulate an emergency shelter intake in the Rasmuson Hall lobby.

Up to 400 students and employees are sought to be mock earthquake victims; to participate, go to the Rasmuson Hall (RH) east entrance to help complete a registration form.

Mock victims will be given a meal ticket to take to a disaster kitchen crew in Cuddy Hall. Lunchtime registration begins at 11 a.m. and goes to 1 p.m. Dinner registration begins at 4 p.m. and lasts through 5:30 p.m. Come help responders practice for a local sheltering and feeding crisis. We can't do it without you!
