Deadline to apply: Friday, April 3

Geography 390, "A Balkan Inquiisition: Cultural Lanscape and Ethnic Identity in the Balkans," is a faculty-led geography travel course that will explore the cultural mosaic of successive empires across southeastern Europe through travels in these four countries. The five class meetings prior to departure will incorporate basic geographical principles, history and culture and relate them to the assigned reading list.

As the classes proceed, the topics will narrow and focus on locations to be visited. The program fee is $4,900 and includes airfare, ground transportation, lodging and many meals, entrance fees and professional guides. Find details in the brochure available online as a PDF. The online application form, also a PDF, is available here. Organizers note that space is limited and applications are due no later than Friday, April 3.
