Dean of Students and Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Bruce Schultz, is pleased to announce that UAA senior, Nathalia Echavarria, will represent the 2009 graduating class as Student Commencement Speaker. Nathalia will graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology and plans to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology.

Nathalia is a member of the Seawolf Track and Field team and was awarded GNAC Academic All-Conference in 2007 and 2008. Her academic record is stellar, having been on the Dean's List for her last five semesters at UAA. Nathalia is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society, Student Athlete Advisory Council and Psi Chi Honor Society.

Nathalia's speech will blend her multi-cultural heritage with her experience as a student-athlete into a message that will resonate with the Class of 2009 graduates.
