Spring 2009: Community Forum on the future of Alaska Native education

Join us today from 7-9 p.m. at the UAA/APU Consortium Library as the UAA/APU Books of the Year program hosts a community forum on the future of Alaska Native education.

Panelists include Paul Ongtooguk, UAA College of Education; Linda Leal, Bartlett High School teacher and Mt. Edgecombe High School graduate and Martha Gould-Lehe, Alaska Native Cultural Charter School. Libby Roderick will act as moderator.

Panelists will address the current K-12 system, challenges to providing culturally complete and relevant education for Alaska Native youth, and new models for effective Alaska Native education. For more information, contact (907) 786-6374 or the Books of the Year Web site.
