Annie Route wins 'Staff Make Students Count' award

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Annie Route, director of Student Life and Leadership at the University of Alaska Anchorage, was awarded the 'Staff Make Students Count' award for UAA at the June 2009 Board of Regents meeting.

The 'Staff Make Students Count' awards were established in 1999 by University of Alaska President Mark Hamilton to recognize university staff members who have provided outstanding service to students, anywhere in the UA system, including rural campuses and extended sites. Service to students may include service as part of the job or volunteer service, either directly or indirectly, to current or potential students. Up to four individuals can be awarded: one for each the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Alaska Anchorage, the University of Alaska Southeast, and Statewide Programs and Services.

This award recognizes Annie's 23 years of service to UAA students. For her hard work and dedication, Annie was honored with an award plaque, a check for $1,000 and two airline vouchers.

Congratulations, Annie!
