Auxiliary Emergency Team at UAA selects peer leaders

by Kathleen McCoy  |

During its first monthly meeting of the academic year, the University Police Department (UPD) Auxiliary Emergency Team (AET) elected its co-lead members yesterday. Cathy Dunham, office manager at HPER, and Cedar Cussins, Fine Arts building manager, were selected by their peers to help lead the organization. The Auxiliary Emergency Team is specially trained to respond to crisis incidents on campus, giving the UPD additional resources for evacuating buildings, directing crowds and traffic, and other functions. AET members are full-time faculty or staff on the Anchorage campus, and have equipment bags and digital pagers at their work site.
