Nursing students continue winter clothing drive for local refugee population

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Nursing students are working this semester with clients who are recent refugees from Bhutan and Sudan. These new residents arrived in Anchorage only eight weeks ago and have never encountered snowy conditions. They don't have the funds to buy winter clothing. To help the new arrivals get through their first winter, the students are taking donations of serviceable winter gear, to include hats, coats, gloves and boots. All items must be in good condition and clean.
Donations will be accepted in the School of Nursing Office, Professional Studies Building (PSB), Room 103. If you have questions, please contact Pattie at aspa1@uaa.alaska.edu.
