Fall 2009: Human Rights panel at UAA Campus Bookstore

The title of the panel is "Human Rights: Questions and Perspectives Revisited." The panel will include UAA faculty Dalee Dorough (political science), Terrence Kelly (philosophy), Nancy Nix (health sciences) and Zeynep Kilic (sociology), discussing issues, strategies and challenges governing human rights today.

Specific topics include issues facing Indigenous peoples in Alaska; how our conceptualization of immigrant rights have changed over time; a look at human rights issues that affect the lives of women and children globally; and a review of challenges justifying human rights involving societies and governments skeptical of the idea of rights.

This unique event is important and will offer much to think about. Everyone is welcome to attend and free parking is available. A complete list of fall events at the UAA Campus Bookstore can be found on the bookstore Web site.
