Fall 2009: Win a Qaspeq, Atikluuk or Bidzah' Hoolanh!

If you register for the "Pilot Bread Connection" by 5 p.m. today, Sept. 11, you will be entered to win a customized qaspeq, atikluuk or bidzah' hoolanh! To register, contact Karla Booth at (907) 751-7452 or e-mail ankhb@uaa.alaska.edu. Include your full name, cultural affiliation, phone number, e-mail address and if you are currently a UAA student or not.

All are invited to attend the "Pilot Bread Connection" on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the UAA Lee Gorsuch Commons from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The goal is to bring Alaska Native, Native American and other Indigenous students together to build friendships, learn about our cultures and have fun. There will be large group activities as well as presentations and discussions about Alaska Native dancing, Alaska Native games, subsistence in Anchorage, defining Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) and First Alaskans Institute, decolonization, urban basketball, hip hop in Alaska and more.
