The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AASCU) has selected UAA as one of 34 universities in the country to participate in their new initiative -- eCitizenship: New Tools, New Strategies, New Spaces. Over the next three years, UAA faculty and students will explore and assess ways that technology -- and specifically social networks -- can foster and support civic engagement.

This national research project will provide insights into and strategies for using social networks and technology tools to prepare informed, engaged citizens. For further information about this initiative, contact Shauna Dunn at the Center for Community Engagement and Learning, (907) 786-4062 or anssd@uaa.alaska.edu.
