UAA/APU Consortium Library receives two archival donations

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The UAA/APU Consortium Library received a donation of an original copy (number 44 of 100) of the Alaska State Constitution from Loretta Montgomery. Ms. Montgomery's uncle, Frank Peratrovich, was one of the constitutional convention delegates who received an original copy of the constitution.

The Library also received a collection of Bill Tobin's writings and correspondences, along with some personal artifacts including the turn signal switch from Tobin's Buick, which was crushed by the JCPenney's building during the 1964 earthquake.

Bill Tobin was a longtime Anchorage Times editor and columnist. He passed away on April 5, 2009 at the age of 81. Click here to read an article published by the Anchorage Daily News about Mr. Tobin.
