Friday, Oct. 30, 8:55 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
Gorsuch Commons, Room 107

This exciting one-day workshop is designed to help us make our campus community welcoming and an environment in which people want to belong. UAA is a campus affiliate of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), a non-profit leadership organization. On Friday, Oct. 30, the NCBI award-winning Welcoming Diversity Prejudice Reduction Workshop will be presented by the UAA/NCBI Team.

The Welcoming Diversity Workshop offers an opportunity to discuss and experience issues related to diversity and increase your skills in dealing effectively with related issues and dialogues. Attendees will participate in an experiential process and a series of activities that helps participants: celebrate their similarities and differences, recognize information and misinformation learned about other groups including their own, learn about and reevaluate personal attitudes and behaviors that are based on discrimination and prejudice, build effective relationships across group identities and much, much more.

To reserve space for the workshop, please contact the Office of Campus Diversity and Compliance at anshr@uaa.alaska.edu <mailto:anshr@uaa.alaska.edu> (907) 786-4680. A light breakfast and lunch are provided.
