Provost Mike Driscoll visits Kodiak College and Air Station Kodiak

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Kodiak Air StationUAA Provost Mike Driscoll visited Kodiak in late September to meet with Kodiak College faculty, staff and students, as well as Kodiak community members.

A focus of Provost Driscoll's visit was to strengthen offerings to benefit active-duty Coast Guard and their families. The Kodiak Coast Guard community is a large, supportive and very important stakeholder group of Kodiak College.

Provost Driscoll spent time with Captain William Deal, the commanding officer of Air Station Kodiak, who explained how a helicopter pilot and flight mechanic coordinator lower a harness or basket to pull someone off a ship or out of the water.
