The Seawolf Debate Team scored big at a major tournament last weekend at the Hart House Intervarsity tournament at the University of Toronto.

The teams of Michael Imeson and James Kilcup, and Michaela Hernandez and Colin Haughey made the trip for UAA. With 84 teams in attendance from universities across the United States and Canada, UAA's team of Michael Imeson and James Kilcup advanced after five preliminary rounds.

The Seawolves showed an impressive start this year as they advanced to the final four of this prestigious tournament. Furthermore, Imeson and Kilcup distinguished themselves individually as the second and fourth place speakers in the tournament.

This week, the Seawolves remain on the east coast so they may attend the Yale Intervarsity competition. This tournament will not only draw the top North American debate institutions, but also several of the best debaters from Europe.
