Fall 2009: Deadline for two undergraduate research funding applications

Apply by 5 p.m. today for the UAA Undergraduate Research in the Community Award and for the Undergraduate Research Grants.

Deadline to apply is today, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship.

The UAA Undergraduate Research in the Community Award supports UAA's partnerships in the community and encourages the practical application of scholarly inquiry. Research, conducted under the guidance of a faculty member and developed with a community agency, will address a specific need in the Anchorage community. The final project will be delivered to the partnering agency for use in planning or program development.

Awards will fund up to $2,000 for project expenses plus a $500 stipend. Proposals are accepted in both the fall and spring semesters.
The Undergraduate Research Grants fund significant research or creative work under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Grants fund actual costs of a project up to $2,000 plus a $500 stipend.
