'Standby' mode on electronics can generate up to one-quarter of your monthly energy bill

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Did you know that anywhere between 5-25 percent of your monthly electric bill can be attributed to the devices you keep in "Standby" mode?

This week is National Service Week. In observance, The UAA chapter of Alpha Phi Omega (APO), Alpha Zeta Eta, has an environmental focus. All of our members are working to reduce their carbon footprint and go green!

You can help reduce yours as well, every day! APO reminds you to turn off the lights when you exit a room and unplug any unnecessary appliances when not in use. Take time to understand your energy consumption and find ways that you can reduce your personal emissions.
