TONIGHT: 'Medical Moments' offers storytelling about how native ASL users communicate issues of sickness and health

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Tonight, Nov. 20, 7-9 p.m.
Rasmuson Hall, Room 101

Come to 'Medical Moments,' two hours of American Sign Language (ASL) storytelling by native ASL users about their experiences in sickness and in health. Here you will have the opportunity to see vivid case studies about specific medical procedures, illnesses and symptoms from deaf persons who experience them. In addition, you will have the chance to ask questions about health signs that you'd like to "doctor up." So build your ASL immune system of medical signs and anatomical classifiers! Anyone at any ASL level will enjoy this funny, friendly, learning environment.

Tickets are $10 for the general public and students, children under 12 are free. For CEU and ACET credit, the fee is $20. If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Anne Dawson at dawson@asdawson.com.
