Understanding tap as a musical instrument and a dance form, this class will explore the musical aspects of tap dance. Katherine has developed an approach to teaching tap technique that draws on the energy and musicality of her early mentors, Honi Coles and Brenda Bufalino, as well as her own full-body approach to movement and tap. The class will include technique, composition and improvisation and is open to all levels of tap dancers who have had at least some basic tap training.
This workshop is free and open to the public. Come experience dance at UAA!
