Jan. 20, 2010: FASD 101 to be offered by the Arctic FASD Regional Training Center

The Arctic Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Regional Training Center (Arctic FASD RTC) will hold its monthly workshop on FASDs on Friday, Jan. 22. This class will use the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services' FASD 101: Insights into Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders curriculum and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's FASD Competency-Based Curriculum.

Topics include:

  • Effect of alcohol on the development of the fetus
  • Clinical issues, alcohol use and addiction
  • Ethical and legal issues
  • Treatment and support across the lifespan, primary and secondary disabilities
  • Resources for diagnosis and treatment in Alaska
