Today, Jan. 25, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Cama-i Room

All are invited to "How to Speak When Everyone is Laughing" in the Cama-i Room. Are you tired of hearing derogatory jokes, remarks or stereotypes? Marva Watson, director of UAA Diversity and Compliance, will lead an interactive dialogue on using your voice to speak up when offensive things are said. Learn how to confront people that say derogatory comments and receive tips on how to approach people in an open-minded and nonthreatening manner. In addition, learn the process of how to file a complaint at UAA and how the Office of Diversity and Compliance can assist and support you.

For more information, call Karla Booth at (907) 751-7452. Sponsored by Residence Life and ANROP. This is an Alaska Civil Rights Month event. For more information contact the Office of Campus Diversity and Compliance at (907) 786-4680.
