Faculty, please help us get students ready for next year by talking about financial aid now

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The University of Alaska disburses more than $102 million per year and we want each student to catch his/her share.

FACT: This year it's easier than ever to apply and there is more money than ever.

FACT: More than 60 percent of our degree-seeking students have some type of financial aid.

FACT: February is the best time to apply for financial aid for next year because some of the grants and work study go fast.

FACT: There is financial aid for individuals/families at all income levels: even the loans are generally a better deal.

FACT: Even if their taxes aren't done, they can complete the application.

Students/families should go to www.fafsa.gov and spend the 15-45 minutes to complete the online application.

Enter to win $250 for your department. Send an e-mail to clewing@alaska.edu after you talk to your class.
