Orson Welles starred in and directed this film, which cuts and pastes three plays, making Shakespeare's most popular character its central figure and hero. Decades ahead of its time in innovative technique, this black-and-white classic influenced all subsequent Shakespeare films. Welles's portrayal of the Fat Knight is perhaps his finest performance, and an unforgettable movie experience rarely seen in this country. Admission, snacks and parking are free.
