February 2010: Desa Jacobssen to speak at Alaska Native Civil Rights event

The Coalition for Alaska Native Student Success (C.A.N.S.S.) brings you an evening with lifelong Alaska Native activist Desa Jacobssen.  Desa has fought for subsistence rights, Alaska Native education and culture, has gone on a hunger strike for social justice for Alaska Native victims of sexual assault and murder, as well as run for governor in 1998.  Desa will be joined by members of the next generation of new Alaska Natives who will describe how they are making a difference in their communities.
