UAA/APU Consortium Library, Third Floor Atrium

Please join CAFE for the UAA/APU "Making Learning Visible" Faculty Poster Showcase. Posters by UAA and APU faculty sharing the results of scholarly inquiry into their teaching practices will be on display Friday, April 2, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in the UAA/APU Consortium Library, Third Floor Atrium.

The Making Learning Visible initiative introduces faculty to the classroom-based research process known as the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. This process engages faculty in experimenting with effective teaching practices, assessing the outcomes of their experiments, and sharing the results with their peers. Faculty from the UAA/APU Ford Foundation Difficult Dialogues project were introduced to traditional Alaska Native ways of teaching and learning and key difficult dialogues between Alaska Native communities and western universities. They applied the new skills, perspectives, approaches and knowledge to their courses, and assessed the results of their efforts. Their experiences, outcomes and reflections are displayed in these posters. Come see examples of teaching excellence.
