'Poetry in Translation' event on March 15 celebrates Poetry Month

Monday, March 15, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
UAA Campus Bookstore

The beauty of language and poetry will be showcased at this event. For each language being represented, two poems -- a classical poem and a modern poem -- will be read in their original language accompanied by their translations in English. Then one poem in English will be read and translated into that language.

Participants include:

•    Ian van Tets, (Afrikaner, Biological Sciences Dept.)
•    Yelena Yagodina, (Russian, Mathematical Sciences Dept.)
•    Natalie Norvick, (Italian, Biological Sciences Dept.)
•    Yngvil vatn Guttu, (Norwegian, performance artist)
•    Yen-Chiu Chiang, (Chinese, UAA Campus Bookstore),
•    Yuranan Ubabooth, (Thai, UAA Campus Bookstore)
•    Eugevny Ivanov, (Russian, UAA Campus Bookstore)
•    and others.
