Amy says, "Dr. Natasa Masanovic has been a huge support and motivator for me throughout the whole Fulbright process and my whole education at UAA."

The Fulbright Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education. The CIES Web site states, "The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to 'increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.' With this goal as a starting point, the Fulbright Program has provided almost 300,000 participants-chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential - with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns."

The UAA Discovery Award recognizes undergraduate students who have exemplified overall academic excellence, including exceptional achievement in research or creative activities. Students must be nominated by their academic departments or a subcommittee thereof.
