Booker T and his band kick off UAA's Juneteenth Celebration on June 13, 2010

UAA Student Activities presents 2010 Grammy Award Winner, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Booker T and his band. Booker T is the renowned founder and bandleader of Booker T and the MG's, one of the most highly regarded bands of all time. Booker T and the MG's are known for a string of hot songs including "Green Onions," arguably the most familiar "R & B" instrumental of all time. Booker T and or his band has backed such legends as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Bob Dylan and countless others. Booker T's latest, "Potato Hole," features the Drive By Truckers, and Neil Young on nine tracks. Booker T's show will be a blend of classic instrumental hits, songs from the latest release, and rocking vocal renditions of many hits by Otis Redding and others that he helped write and or perform.

Tickets for UAA students are $5 in advance and $10 at the door with a valid UAA student ID. Tickets for the general public are $26 in advance or $30 at the door.
