Dr. Andre Rosay, Justice Center Director, received a competitive grant of $280,143 from the Alaska Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (CDVSA) to conduct a survey that will generate accurate and reliable statewide estimates for the lifetime and 12-month incidence and the prevalence of intimate partner violence, sexual violence and stalking. Project investigators include Dr. Marny Rivera and Dr. Brad Myrstol, Justice Center faculty. Dr. Rosay joined UAA in 2002. With this most recent award, Dr. Rosay's total external competitive research funding to UAA now exceeds $1M.

The CDVSA's vision is an Alaska free from domestic and sexual violence. Its mission is to provide safety for Alaskans victimized or impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault through a system of statewide crisis intervention, perpetrator accountability and prevention services. The Council is comprised of seven members: Commissioners or their designee of the Departments of Law, Health and Social Service, Public Safety, Education and Early Development; and three public members appointed by the governor.
