Friday, April 16, 11:30 a.m.
UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 309

Professor Pamela R. Kelley will present information useful to UAA faculty and staff that have or will face the difficulties certain to arise when long distance care giving becomes necessary for aging parents or family members. Managing care for loved ones in the Lower 48 from the geographic remove of Alaska compounds the stresses we face with aging parents.

Professor Kelley has a resource manual for long-distance caregivers, and will present her materials from a legal perspective, covering such topics as legal issues, family medical leave, care coordination, troubleshooting Medicare coverage questions and appeals, housing and the impact of the latest changes in federal law on health care. Q&A to follow. Please register here.
