Sean Cahoon will defend his thesis, "Large herbivores restrict CO2 uptake and suppress carbon cycle responses to warming in western Greenland" this Friday in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Biology. His thesis advisor is Dr. Jeffrey Welker.
Abstract
Studies of Arctic terrestrial ecosystem responses to change have generally focused
on abiotic drivers such as temperature and precipitation. However, recent work has
shown that biotic drivers, such as herbivory, may be of overwhelming importance to
the structure and function of Arctic ecosystems.
