July 20, 2010: UAA Center for Human Development to co-sponsor free workshop on women and epilepsy

The UAA Center for Human Development is a co-sponsor of a free workshop covering issues with epilepsy and medications, hormones, puberty, pregnancy, menopause and later life, along with impacts on emotional and cognitive functioning, such as memory, depression, family life, relationships, and self-esteem. This event will take place on Tuesday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the BP Energy Center.

Presenters include Dr. Gail Anderson, professor of pharmacology, University of Washington (UW); Deborah Carr, Epilepsy Foundation of America; Mary Margaret (Mo) Hillstrand, ANP, LLC, general neurology, Anchorage; and Dr. Vaishali Phatak, clinical neuropsychologist, (UW).
