by Kathleen McCoy  |

Application deadline extended to: Oct.22

The Department of Anthropology is offering a short-term study abroad adventure to sunny Merida, Mexico between the fall and spring semesters. The trip will take place from approximately Dec. 27 until Jan. 8, with five evening class meetings prior to the trip in November and December.

You can earn one to three elective credits for ANTH 297 or 397 (Independent Study on Ancient and Modern Mexico) and experience for yourself the wonders of the Maya, as well as the culture of modern Mexico, while living with host families and visiting impressive ruins, exquisite cenotes (underground lakes), a Mayan community, and beautiful beaches.

Take a look at the program brochure on the Anthropology website, and find the application here. The program fee is $2,700 per student, and includes airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, most meals, bilingual local guides, entry fees to attractions and insurance.

Course tuition and books are not included in the program fee. The deadline to apply is extended to Friday, Oct. 22, and space is limited, so apply today!
