These events are free and open to the public. The Cama-i Room is a social gathering place and study center for all UAA students. Cama-i Room programs and activities celebrate Alaska Native, Native American and Alaska cultures.

Grow a Plant Pet!
Monday, Sept. 20. 5 p.m.
Cama-i Room
The first 10 visitors can pick a dog, pig, frog or a crocodile to nurture. Watch its hair grow and style it as you wish!

Beaded Necklaces
Monday, Sept. 20, 6-9 p.m.
Cama-i Room
Create your own necklace and make an extra one to donate to the Cama-i Room.

Rush Hour Breakfast with Betty Bang
Tuesday, Sept. 21, 8-11 a.m.
Outside of the MAC Laundry Room
Stop by to grab fresh fruit and a hot drink or other snack while learning about services provided by the Student Health & Counseling Center. Nurse Practitioner Betty Bang will be there to provide information and answer questions!

Athabascan Language Circle
Every Tuesday starting Sept. 21, 8-9 p.m.
Cama-i Room

Yupik Dancing with Ingrimuiut
Every Wednesday
7-9 p.m.
Cama-i Room
All are invited to participate in the weekly dance group practice for Ingrimuiut: People of the Mountains. They are a Yupik dance group that is lead by Ossie Kairaiuak. Sponsored by Residence Life, ANROP and Conference Services.

Walk to the Alaska Native Cultures and Issues Panel Discussion with Karla
Thursday, Sept. 23, 4:15 p.m.
Meet at the Cama-i Room
Walk to the Bookstore where you can listen to Dr. Phyllis Fast, Dr. Jeane Breinig, Paul Ongtooguk and Libby Roderick discuss the book "Alaska Native Cultures & Issues." Sharing Traditions
Every Thursday, 6-8 p.m.

A new art project, artist or elder will be offered each Thursday by the Sharing Traditions Host, Jayme Johnson. All are welcome to take part in the activities and meet the special guests. For more information, contact Karla Booth at (907) 751-7452.

Native Student Council
