D-VAM SLAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month Slam)

D-VAM SLAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month Slam) is a performance poetry event that combines the Final Exam for the UAA Slam Poetry course and a benefit performance for AWAIC (Abused Women's Aid in Crisis), headlined by Alaska Slam Champion and radio and TV personality Corinna Delgado.

Scheduled for 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, in the South Café of the Student Union. Final Exam performances begin at 5:30. Other poets and readers are encouraged to step up to the open mic starting at 7:30 p.m. Performances are free, but a $5 donation is suggested for those who can afford it, to benefit AWAIC.
