Oct. 11 Poetry Slam with guest Corinna Delgado will benefit AWAIC

D-VAM SLAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month Slam) is a performance poetry event that combines the final exam for the UAA Slam Poetry course and a benefit performance for AWAIC (Abused Women's Aid in Crisis), headlined by Alaska Slam Champion and radio and TV personality Corinna Delgado. This event is scheduled for 5:30-10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, in the South Cafe of the Student Union. Final exam performances begin at 5:30 p.m. Other poets and readers are encouraged to step up to the open mic starting at 7:30 p.m. Performances are free, but a $5 donation is suggested for those who can afford it, to benefit AWAIC.
