Oct. 29, 2010: Join a campus-wide retreat on international activities at UAA

Please join us for a campus-wide retreat and discussion about international activities at UAA. The retreat is open to all faculty, staff and students; the discussion will focus on our students.

Participants will work in small groups, helping us understand how our various programs and activities at UAA help students meet particular international and intercultural outcomes. The retreat will kick off a year of discussion about our international activities, our goals for our students and our priorities in this area.

The working groups will be organized around nine themes (with the following facilitators):

• Curriculum: Liz Dennison, Tim Jester
• Study Abroad: Dorn Van Dommelen, Bill Myers
• Community-based Learning and Research: Beth Sirles, Diane Hirshberg
• Faculty and Staff Development: Lynn Koshiyama, Tara Smith
• International Students and Diversity: Vara Allen-Jones, Dewain L. Lee
• Research and Creative Activity: Mara Kimmel, Ray Anthony
• Community Outreach: Paola Banchero, Gabriel Garcia
• Partnerships: Heather Hudson, John Dede
• Academic Distinction and Student Success: Natasa Masanovic, Francisco Miranda
