The Cama-i Room is a social gathering place and study center for all UAA students. Cama-i Room programs and activities celebrate Alaska Native, Native American and Alaska cultures.

Ulus, Knives & Shields!
Monday, Oct. 18 and Tuesday, Oct. 19, 6-10 p.m.  (both nights)

Learn how to create your own paper mâche item. Or help make ulus, knives and shields to be used for the Alaska Native/Native American Heritage Month Kick-Off Reception on Nov. 1.

St. Lawrence Island Dance Practice
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 7-9 p.m.
Commons

Join the St. Lawrence Island Dancers by watching their practice or taking part in the dances that are open to all visitors.  Meets every Tuesday and Thursday.

Athabascan Language Circle
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 8-9 p.m.
Join professor Roy Mitchel and other speakers and learners of the various Athabascan language dialects. All levels are welcome to attend! Meets every Tuesday.

It's Ducky to say "No"
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 9-11 p.m.
Say "no" and win a duck! Tell us excuses and reasons to not drink alcohol when you're not in the mood. If you can come up with enough reasons,  you'll get your own rubber ducky!

Creativity with Russell: Play-Dough!
Wednesday, Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m.
De-stress with Russell every Wednesday. This week, we'll make play-dough to help work out the stress that builds up from being a hard-working student. Next week look forward to beading your own unique jewelry.

Yupik Dancing with Ingrimuiut
Wednesday, Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m.

Commons 107
All are invited to participate in the weekly dance group practice for Ingrimuiut: People of the Mountains. They are a Yupik dance group that is lead by Ossie Kairaiuak. Sponsored by Residence Life, ANROP, Conference Services and Parking Services. Meets every Wednesday.

Games, Games, Games!
Wednesday, Oct. 20, 9-11 p.m.
Stop by to play board games, card games, video games, Alaska games and more. There will be a different focus every Wednesday.

Learn about services offered to assist you in getting a job or career that you want! We'll have an information table every Thursday.

Alaska Native Dance Celebration-Quyana!
Thursday, Oct. 21, 7-10 p.m.

During Sharing Traditions watch the AFN tradition of "Quyana!"
You'll see Alaska Native dance groups from all over the state of Alaska perform for participants attending the AFN Conference in Fairbanks. And mark your calendars Sharing Traditions event on Oct. 28, featuring a potluck and talking circle!

Saturday, Oct. 23, 5 p.m.-Midnight

Play Wii Sports, Deca Sports and Carnival Games with Peer Mentor, Richard!
 
Please note that Native Student Council, which normally meets every Friday, 5:30-6:30 p.m., will not meet this Friday, Oct. 23, due to the AFN conference.
