Oct. 21, 2010: Avivara, an advocacy group promoting quality education in Guatemala, will be on campus

Avivara is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality education in Guatemala. Two of its founders, Ann Austin and Gustavo Valle, will speak about living conditions in Guatemala and for the indigenous Mayan population.

Hand-woven Mayan fabrics will be on display with some items for sale. Everyone is invited to come and learn about an amazing people and culture.


The event is sponsored by UAA Center for Community Engagement and Learning and the Office of International Affairs. This event is free and open to the public with free parking.
