Message from UA President Patrick Gamble on passage of Proposition B

Dear UA Employee:



The passage of Proposition B represents a solid public mandate to make major infrastructure improvements across the University of Alaska System that will directly benefit students. I want to personally express my appreciation to all of you who supported passage of Prop B.



I also want to be sure we realize that sometimes when we get what we wish for it comes with a price. In this case, many of us will need to move quickly and positively; we'll need to roll up our sleeves and take on the next set of tasks required to move the projects forward through the Board of Regents' normal approval process and right on to turning dirt.



From what I've seen so far, that shouldn't present a problem. A world-class team effort can accomplish just about anything ... which, when you think about it, is exactly why we won the public backing for the bonds in the first place.
