eLive Jeopardy, two sessions, Feb. 2 and Feb. 4
Choose from two sessions:
Wednesday, Feb. 2, 7-8 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 4, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Play a Jeopardy game in eLive with Lee Henrikson, FTC's instructional designer and learn how to build a Jeopardy game in eLive. Develop expertise in manipulating objects on the whiteboard and learn how to do fake PowerPoint transitions. Find out who created which objects on the whiteboard. This session will dive deep into all the ways you can manipulate and add content to whiteboards.

Windows Movie Maker Feb. 4
Friday, Feb. 4, 1:30-3 p.m.
UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214

Join a hands-on workshop with Ben Chadwick, FTC's media guru, for video editing. Learn to import, edit, use transitions and export a basic video into a movie clip. This fun and informative session will also cover adding music and text to the clip. Basic knowledge of Windows is preferred.

Blackboard Grade Center Feb. 5
Saturday, Feb. 5, 9:30-11 a.m.

Explore options within the Grade Center including: adding grade columns, column categories, organizing columns, in-line grading, overriding/changing grades and viewing grade history with Lee Henrikson. We will spend the last half hour on weighted grades.

Explore the following new forum creation and management tools in Blackboard 8 with Lee Henrikson:

  • setting roles,
  • forcing moderation,
  • linking to discussions from content areas,
  • copying forums within a course,
  • searching discussion boards,
  • creating collections,
  • tagging posts,
  • hiding, locking and rating posts,
  • grading discussions,
  • setting release dates and
  • designing trigger questions

Please pre-register for all workshops. We will send a confirmation e-mail the day before. Late registrants may not get a confirmation e-mail, but please just show up. Check on the website if you want to show up at the last minute just in case the workshop was cancelled. We need three registrants the day before to run the workshop.
