Faculty Technology Center offers workshops through April 1

Please pre-register for all workshops. We will send a confirmation e-mail the day before. Late registrants may not get a confirmation e-mail, please just show up, you are expected. Check on the website if you want to show up at the last minute just in case the workshop was cancelled.  We need three registrants the day before to run the workshop. All eLive sessions are held in Lee's office within FTC. Hours are posted at the eLive website.

Discover shortcuts and tricks. Find out how to customize the pointer in application sharing, see which participant made each object on the whiteboard, watch where participants are roaming, turn off the bell for raised hand and more. Bring your secrets to share with the group.

'eLive Whiteboards and Breakout Rooms' with Lee Henrikson Feb. 12

Expand your use of eLive by learning to setup and use breakout rooms for small group work in Elluminate Live. Learn to move whiteboard content to and from Breakout rooms. Practice monitoring breakout rooms.  Additionally, we will build our skills with using whiteboard on the fly.

Camtasia Studio with Ben Chadwick Feb. 18

Camtasia Studio enables voice recording along with the computer screen. Record "how to videos" or lectures. Capture PowerPoint, Internet web pages and other software.

Accessibility in Blackboard with Kaela Parks Feb. 25

Blackboard itself is designed to be fairly accessible to users with disabilities. However, barriers can be introduced if the documents and presentations we upload are not accessible. In this workshop, we will learn how to make our Word, PowerPoint and PDF files more usable to more users.

Streaming video with Ben Chadwick March 4
Friday, March 4, 1-2 p.m.

Explore the differences between UAA's streaming video server and sites like YouTube. We will discuss what streaming is versus progressive download. We will also cover the differences between uploading to YouTube and uploading to UAA's server. Security and confidentiality of video and accessibility issues will also be discussed.
