Scholarship Opportunity: Rose Kapingen Foundation of Soroptimist International of Anchorage; April 1 is deadline

The Rose Kapingen Foundation of Soroptimist International of Anchorage is pleased to announce the opening of competition for its 2011 scholarships.

There are two scholarship awards of $3,000 each. The awards are for the June 2011-July 2012 period. Eligible women are residents of the Municipality of Anchorage and U.S. citizens. Preference will be given to candidates who are experienced in a business or profession, have demonstrated the ability to succeed in their chosen field of work and desire further education to advance their careers.

This foundation was established by a donation in memoriam from the family of Rose Kapingen, a charter member of Soroptimist International of Anchorage. Soroptimist International of Anchorage is a service club for business and professional women. The purpose of the Rose Kapingen Foundation is to provide funds for the higher education of women who reside in Anchorage, Alaska.

Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2011. Scholarship applications are available by sending an e-mail to RoseFoundation@gmail.com or MelissaFouse@mac.com.
